This was a trip of a lifetime for us. Wow!  The sights, sounds and smells ( of Brittany’s delicious food) will always be remembered.  The hiking,  fishing and hot springs were UNREAL!  We appreciate your kindness, patience, skill and knowledge more than you know.  We all had some fun laughs together.

You all make the cutest couple and provide the coolest product/service to your guests. Maybe we can catch you all in the Bahamas someday.  “Hey bear!” forever our Alaskan mantra!

July 2020 Juneau to Sitka

July 14th to 22nd                       Juneau to Sitka

Thank you so very much Jonathan and Brittany for the best vacation trip ever! Im so glad we found your booth at the Santa Clara vacation and travel show last year. It was a great decision to cruise on the Gypsy Wind.  The whole trip was fantastic,  from Brittany’s unforgettable  meals to all our shore excursions, hikes, kayak paddles, foraging for beach asparagus, salmon berries and blue berries, hot spring dips to watching the fish catches and crab hauls.  We will always treasure the memories of this trip with you all.  Please, im hoping you will send me as many recipes as your willing to share so we can savor some of your favorite and now ours again.  And remember how well you fed us and what a fun time we had!

July 2020 Sitka to Juneau

July 3rd to 12th 2020                 Sitka to Juneau

What a wonderful experience, the trip of a lifetime. The trip was not only a experience but an adventure.  Cameron, Logan, Kelly and I had the most awesome time. Adventures included exploring the Alaskan rainforest, fishing, kayaking, stream rescue, sliding down trees, stuck in the mud, crabs, shrimp, salmon, trout, halibut, rock fish and so much more. Such a great time relaxing with new friends, we will be back soon.

Without a doubt the best trip my husband and I have ever had.  We saw eagles, came very close to bears grabbing salmon out of the stream, went up stream salmon fishing.  We picked mushrooms and berrys, and caught a radical amount of salmon and halibut. Our hosts were amazing, and just by talking to us knew what we might be interested in.  We saw little town after town and really experienced it from a locals lifestyle.  Definitely a more personal experience than a cruise.  The Captain and Chef were amazingly accommodating in every aspect. The food was also an amazing highlight! So in my option take the leap and book it I guarantee you won’t be sorry or disappointed.

Glaciers in alaska

By far one of the best things I have ever done in my life! Alaska was an extraordinary adventure that mixed a good amount of both leisure and adventure. I wouldn’t hesitate if asked to do it again! By the way amazing culinary skills!!

The Gypsy Wind is a truly movable feast that includes 3 wonderful cabins. Everyday with the both of you is a new adventure, complete with gourmet meals, expert sailing, fishing that brings new bounty to our table and conversation that intrigues and delights.

Vacations are mostly an exhausting experience that leaves you unprepared to return to normal life.  Gypsy Wind offers new vistas, experience’s, and adventure but gives us the time to just stare at the ocean, take a nap, kayak and share time with our boat friends.

As we write this we have been onboard a week. Its almost time to leave and we will miss everyone. And yes we are eager to sail again, but we are also relaxed and clear headed. Ready for real life, but dreams of Gypsy Wind and her amazing crew.

We wanted a small boat adventure in Southeast Alaska, and wow, did we have one aboard Gypsy Wind, complete with four kayaks and a skiff for onshore hikes and kayak glides through glacier inlets. We saw whales, seals, eagles, bears and running salmon, all up front and personal. The forest walks were amazing! The four of us had private accommodations and bathrooms, and we were so comfortable on the boat. The meals were prepared by a culinary arts graduate, Brittany, and were absolutely luscious. Fresh salmon, seafood chowders, chocolate mousse and homemade rolls – every meal was delicious. The crew of three are our new best friends! Strap on your gummy boots and go!!! Shooting as a professional, the close access to this wonderland was a gift, and I am winding my way through the 4000 images I took, and will post some of those soon. Special thanks to Brittany and Jonathan, our pilot, whose understanding of the 25 foot tides was invaluable in getting us where we wanted to go.
