This was a once in a lifetime trip. We can’t thank you enough for such a wonderful trip.  We look forward to sailing with you again. We where able to see whales, bears, eagles and the prettiest forest in the world. You have been gracious host and we can’t wait to sail with you again.

Glaciers in alaska

By far one of the best things I have ever done in my life! Alaska was an extraordinary adventure that mixed a good amount of both leisure and adventure. I wouldn’t hesitate if asked to do it again! By the way amazing culinary skills!!

The Gypsy Wind is a truly movable feast that includes 3 wonderful cabins. Everyday with the both of you is a new adventure, complete with gourmet meals, expert sailing, fishing that brings new bounty to our table and conversation that intrigues and delights.

Vacations are mostly an exhausting experience that leaves you unprepared to return to normal life.  Gypsy Wind offers new vistas, experience’s, and adventure but gives us the time to just stare at the ocean, take a nap, kayak and share time with our boat friends.

As we write this we have been onboard a week. Its almost time to leave and we will miss everyone. And yes we are eager to sail again, but we are also relaxed and clear headed. Ready for real life, but dreams of Gypsy Wind and her amazing crew.

alaskan waterfalls

We wanted a small boat adventure in Southeast Alaska, and wow, did we have one aboard Gypsy Wind, complete with four kayaks and a skiff for onshore hikes and kayak glides through glacier inlets. We saw whales, seals, eagles, bears and running salmon, all up front and personal. The forest walks were amazing! The four of us had private accommodations and bathrooms, and we were so comfortable on the boat. The meals were prepared by a culinary arts graduate, Brittany, and were absolutely luscious. Fresh salmon, seafood chowders, chocolate mousse and homemade rolls – every meal was delicious. The crew of three are our new best friends! Strap on your gummy boots and go!!! Shooting as a professional, the close access to this wonderland was a gift, and I am winding my way through the 4000 images I took, and will post some of those soon. Special thanks to Brittany and Jonathan, our pilot, whose understanding of the 25 foot tides was invaluable in getting us where we wanted to go.
