Where Will You Sail?
The Vessel
Gypsy Wind is a 72-foot sailing yacht built for real adventure. Whether you're an experienced sailor or a first-timer, you'll be part of the crew — not just a passenger.
We Have a Hot Tub.
Because roughing it is overrated. Gypsy Wind is one of the very few sailing yachts in the world where you can soak in a hot tub while glaciers drift past. Alaska wilderness by day. Hot tub under the stars by night.
The Spirit of Everett
Gypsy Wind Charters is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Every dollar from our charters goes directly to supporting maritime youth education in our community. When you sail with us, you're not just going on an adventure — you're investing in the next generation of mariners.
Charters for Charity
Sailing with a purpose. Gypsy Wind has helped raise funds and support organizations including the WSDOT Memorial Foundation, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, Marysville Pilchuck NJROTC, Totem Middle School Jazz Club, Edmonds Performing Arts, Cub Scouts, and youth maritime programs. Our charter proceeds support Sea Scout Ship 226 and youth sailing and maritime education.
Learning by Doing
Gypsy Wind is a floating classroom for Sea Scout Ship 226 and a free sailing resource for the Boys & Girls Club, NJROTC, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and local schools. Our programs have introduced hundreds of young people to life on the water — from evening sails to extended voyages through the San Juans, Canada, and around Vancouver Island.
Giving Back Through Sailing and Service
Gypsy Wind provides free, all-inclusive sailing experiences for veterans, active-duty military, first responders, teachers and their families. We also create inclusive opportunities for children with autism and wheelchair users to experience life on the water. Sea Scout Ship 226 gives back through free public sailing lessons, boating education, beach cleanups and community service throughout the Puget Sound region.

Stories from the Water
I've had a lot of Christmases and opened a lot of presents, but the very best gifts aren't things. They're the memories you make with the people you love. Going to Alaska with my Great-Grandchildren gave us memories we'll be talking about for the rest of our lives. You can't wrap that up and put it under a Christmas tree. Christmas in August! (I don't Recomend Alaska in December) -Fair Winds
Alaska is simply stunning. Its majesty and beauty can never truly be captured in the words of a book or on a website—you just have to go! And traveling by sail is the only way to experience it up close and personal: moving quietly through the wilderness, surrounded by mountains, glaciers and wildlife. Alaska isn't something you simply see. It's something you can only experience.
The best Thanksgiving we ever had wasn’t at home — it was at Roche Harbor aboard Gypsy Wind with our family. Everybody brought a little piece of home with them. Jamie and Sarah brought fresh king crab from Kodiak, Kristen and Roy brought Sonoran-style carne asada from Arizona, and Dawson and Dyson brought fresh elk steaks and homemade smoked salmon from Oregon. Then there was Herbie’s special BBQ — with plenty of Kahlúa and Captain Morgan in the sauce — his famous banana bread, and Neva’s homemade pies. Somewhere along the way, a few folks we’d just met had a couple swigs of Herbie’s BBQ sauce and somehow became family too. We kinda turned Gypsy Wind into our home away from home. Grandma always used to say, “Home is where the family is.” Turns out she was right. You don’t need much — just a big heart, some home cooking, and your kinfolk gathered around the table. That Thanksgiving at Roche Harbor is one we’ll never forget. Go Huskies!
